Beijing Tong Ren Tang : Yufeng Ningxin Pian : T38

In the 1950s, CPC leaders, including Peng Zhen, paid great attention to the development of Tongrentang. On many occasions, they encouraged Yue Songsheng to set up a traditional Chinese medicine refinery, in the hope of a renovation of the dose forms of traditional Chinese medicine. In 1952, Yue invited Prof. Zheng Qidong of the Pharmaceutics Department of Peking University to establish the Chinese Medicine Innovation Research Room. Through repeated experiments, they successfully invented such drugs as the Yufeng Ningxin Tablet and the Yiqiao Jiedu Tablet, putting an end to a situation where traditional Chinese medicine was only in the dose forms of pills, powders ointments and small pills.
